I love experimenting with hair care products, especially high street brands, just because I feel like it’s a big risk trying a more expensive brand, as you don’t know if it will work for you! I’ve compiled a top five of my favourite hair savers that have worked miracles on my hair.
Umberto Gianni Mend My Hair: £6.99
I lighten my hair a lot so my hair is put under a lot of strain with all the harsh chemicals that are in these products. This Mend My Hair protects against breakage from colour, heat and dehydration. It is a leave in, pre styling spray that strengthens, nourishes and softens and it also has an added heat protection in, perfect if you are in a hurry and need some life putting back into your hair! It has moisturising protein and keretin in which makes your hair silky soft and smooth. I’ve been using this for about six months now and the bottle is still half full, so it really does go a long way! It is a leave in spray, so after I shampoo and condition my hair, I spritz this in before blowdrying and it leaves my hair frizz free. If you colour your hair a lot then I really recommend this as it is a quick and easy solution to get professional looking hair.
Bouffe Dry Spray: £5.99
This spray is perfect for anyone who has fine hair and needs a bit of a lift at the roots for a voluminous look! It’s also great if you have a lot of regrowth at your roots as it cover it up brilliantly. You can get these in lots of different colours so there is something for anyone’s hair colour. With thickening sprays they can leave your hair feeling very dry and weighty, whereas this is very lightweight and distributes evenly. Apply at the roots and leave in for 1-2 minutes and gently tease your hair for an added boost! This product is great if you want to lay off the backcombing and give your hair a break as it does all the hard work for you.
Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray: £22.00
Bumble and Bumble hair products are AMAZING but can be very pricey. Althought this isn’t a high street product, I just had to include it! I managed to get this in a little set that came with shampoo and conditioner but this stood out for me. It is perfect for anyone that wants a beachy, windswept style and for anyone that hates that crunchy and stiffness you get from other texturizing sprays. You can spray this on damp or dry hair for a luxurious look and is very effortless. I usually section my hair and spritz and then twirl my hair around my fingers as I find that it stays in place much longer. You can set with hair spray if you so wish, but I find that it looks a lot more natural if you just let it fall into place!
OGX Macadamia Oil: £6.99
I love OGX products, particularly their shampoo and conditioner range as there are so many different products to choose from! This oil is great for taming dry and split ends and make them virtually invisible which makes your hair really easy to style too. It leaves your hair so hydrated and soft without the greasiness you get in other products. It contains Macadamia, sugar cane and bamboo extract which all contributes to the overall finish. Just squeeze some into the palm of your hands and apply to clean damp hair. I find that my hair is really easy to style and brush, as the end result is so smooth. The only downside to this product is that it leaves your hands quite sticky after, so I prefer products like this in a spritz form.
Loreal Elnett Satin: £5.99
My hair is naturally curly, so any product that is targeted at an ‘intense straight’ finish is a winner in my eyes! This is a heat protector for up to 230 degree heat and locks in a straight, sleek look. It says that it leaves your hair straight for up to four days, but I cant say I’ve tried this fact out as I need to wash my hair pretty much everyday. It does however, keep my hair straight for the whole day, whatever the weather which is perfect. It has been specially adapted for straightening, so if you do reach for the straightners a lot then this is perfect. They also do other ones in the range including one for wavy hair finish, and this is also incredible. I love Elnett products as they leave your hair so soft and effortless, and you don’t need to do much styling at all. This is great because you spray onto damp hair and then blow dry, which means you don’t use your straightners as much.
