Real Girl Struggles… Bikinis

Real Girl Struggles… Bikinis

Summer is here and it’s time to find that perfect bikini to turn people’s heads when you’re strutting by the pool. Holiday shopping is a joyous experience, right? Wrong. When you’re, well, top heavy in that department it is a bloody nightmare and bikini shopping is no fun at all.

Finding a bikini that even goes up to your size is a struggle, and the ones that do, look unflattering and mimic the likes of shopping bags, not to mention the fact that it looks highly unlikely they will prevent ‘slips’ in the pool.

I’ve trailed the shops and the internet and I can’t find any that will 1. make me feel comfortable and 2. will hold everything in place. I’ve realised that most bikinis these days contain no under wire or are strapless, and if anyone with big boobs has tried wearing strapless bikinis, then you will feel my pain and I salute you.

Why aren’t shops catering for the larger bust woman? Why do we need to buy a size 10 bottom and size 22 top? This is a massive problem, you find a top in your size, perfect, but there are no bottoms to match. Why? Because females, rarely, are in proportion in both departments.

Strings bikini’s are out of the question, there is no hope there for secureness and safeness of the delicate. So what does that leave me with? Halter neck? These are the best for support and covering up (modestly) but you have to use strong athletic force to tie and hoist them up, not to mention that they dig into the back of your neck so you’re hunched over all holiday.

I have a mere 8 weeks until my holiday, 8 weeks of searching, 8 weeks of trying on and sighing in the mirror at how ridiculous bandeau tops look.

If anyone has any suggestions/tips/moral support on this tiresome hunt for a bikini, let me know. kndflknd.jpg

Lots of Love,

Clox

Omg! Halter tops are so bad on your neck when you have big breasts!

I buy mine from Curvy Kate. Even though they’re on the pricier side, all my bras and swimwear last me forever! You can buy them at John Lewis or find them online. I view it as an investment in support x

I may have to look into curvy kate as well, I’ve been in the halter top phase for my ‘blessed’ chest for ages… needless to say it encourages me to stay in the water where they are weightless.
